Scania plans to halt the production of older diesel engines currently being used outside of Europe in order to streamline its engine spectrum. Since 2012, Scania’s Inline Diesel Series has two basic models: the 12.7 L DC13 6-cylinder and the 9.3 L DC9 5-cylinder. Both of these diesel engines are already available in the European market, but the previous 10.6 L and 11.7 L 6-cylinder and 8.9 L 5-cylinder engines are still on the way in many of the more liberal overseas markets for emissions regulations.
