DNA topoisomerase Ⅱ (Topo Ⅱ) is a kind of nuclear protein widely existing in organisms. It plays an important role in the life activities of DNA replication, repair, transcription, recombination and chromosome segregation by regulating the dynamic changes of nucleic acid structure. At the same time, Topo Ⅱ is also closely related to the occurrence, development, treatment and prognosis of tumors. This article focuses on Topo Ⅱ and gynecologic malignancies in recent years, research progress is reviewed. 1 DNA and DNA topoisomerase 1.1 Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and DNA topoisomerase relationship DNA is the genetic material of most organisms, with a stable, diverse and self-replicating features. The double helix structure of DNA and semi-retentive replication ensure that DNA correctly transcribes the genetic material to the next generation while accurately replicating, while maintaining the integrity of the nucleic acid strand. But the double helix structure of DNA is also
