OBJECTIVE: To investigate the variation of Epimedium brevicornum in different habitats through the analysis of biomass of population components, and to provide evidence for the utilization and protection of Epimedium brevicornum. Methods: The quadrats were set up under the typical habitats of four kinds of Epimedium brevicornum, such as shrubs and weeds in the shrubbery, shrubbery, ditch and canyon. The biomass structure, Volume ratio. Results: The rhizome biomass of Epimedium brevicornum was the largest, and its average value had the same rules with the average of the total biomass: the marginal zone of shrubs> the shrubs and shrubs> the shrubs and weeds> the stream channels; the biomass of roots, leaves and petioles The average does not have the same pattern. The biomass ratios of different functional components under different habitat conditions were different. According to the experimental and field investigation, the aerial parts of Epimedium pubescens showed comparative advantages in the shrubby weed habitat. The rhizomes had the highest nutrient accumulation efficiency in the open-pit habitats . In addition, the allocation strategy of Epimedium pubescens to water metabolism is different under different habitat conditions, which is reflected in the relatively strong biological metabolism of Epimedium brevicornum in the habitats of ditches and streams. CONCLUSION: The Epimedium brevicornum grows well in the open land, followed by shrubs and weeds. These two habitats are ideal habitats for medicinal or whole plant rhizomes, and are also the preferred ecological and environmental conditions for conservation.
