Objective To obtain the normal BMD and the prevalence of osteoporosis of the local population in Northwest Hubei Province through statistical analysis of population data of the ulnar radius of the forearm using the DTX-200 bone densitometer. The data of the age Group distribution characteristics for analysis. Methods 1957 natives (959 males and 998 females) in northwestern Hubei Province were examined by BMD of the distal radius and ulna in the forearm using the DTX-200 bone densitometer of Osteometer MediTech in the United States. The average and Standard deviation calculation, according to 30 to 39 age group calculation of men and women bone peak. Results ① The distal peak of the forearm in the male was (0.572 ± 0.037) g / cm2 and the female was (0.502 ± 0.041) g / cm2. BMD in both men and women peaked in the 30- to 39-year-old group. (2) The mean of all age groups showed that the BMD in women aged 15-19 years reached 93% of the peak, while that in men aged 15-19 years only reached 79%. The BMD in women aged 60-69 decreased to 76% 88%. Before age 20, there was a small difference between men and women in BMD. In the peak age group, BMD differed greatly between men and women. Conclusion ① It is reasonable to calculate the peak value of bone by the age group of 30-39 years. ② Before the age of 20 women than men, BMD increased faster; while women in the middle-aged and older to reduce BMD earlier, faster. ③ After the BMD peaked, the incidence of osteoporosis (OP) increased with age. The incidence of osteoporosis in women of the same age group was significantly higher than that of the male.
