Shakespeare and Tang Xianzu, two contemporaries’ dramatic productions, have long drawn people’s attention in the field of comparative literature. This article takes into account two lesser-known scripts, Shakespeare’s Troyos and Krishna, and Tang Xianzu’s Handan Dream. Both were written in 1601 and, likewise, passed through the refraction of the arts, reflecting the fall of the tide of the times.
