The effect of combination of brewer’s yeast beta-glucan and vitamin C on growth and disease resistance of Penaeus monodon was discussed. Five kinds of experimental diets were prepared, that is, different combinations of Saccharomyces cerevisiae beta-glucan preparations and vitamin C (0 0, 100,110, 0,04, g) were added per kg of diet, and each experimental group was designed 2 Repeat. Seventy of Penaeus monodon with body weight about 2 ~ 3g were housed in outdoor cement pool (3m × 2m × 1m) for 30 days. Twenty shrimp were injected with Vibrio alginolyticus or white spot virus after the feeding experiment. The results showed that the combination of Saccharomyces cerevisiae β-glucan and vitamin C significantly increased the growth, survival rate and serum protein of Penaeus monodon and significantly reduced the feed coefficient, which was equivalent to that of high-dose VC group. In the challenge test, the combination of S. cerevisiae beta-glucan formulation and vitamin C significantly increased the survival rate of white spot virus-infected shrimp, whereas high doses of VC did not achieve comparable results with very high mortality rates for the low-dose VC and control groups
