It belongs to the Precambrian crystalline basement zone in the eastern part of the North China Plate. The exposed strata in the area include the Tanggzhouzhuang Group and the Jiaodong Group , Proterozoic Jingshan Group, Fenzishan Group and Penglai Group, Mesozoic Laiyang Group, Qingshan Group, Wangs Group and Cenozoic Tertiary Wutu Group, Linqu Group and Quaternary System (Peng Xin, 2010).
