In addition to the corrosion of carbon steel and copper alloy in lithium bromide solution, the absorption of working medium on the metal and alloy corrosion rarely pay attention. This report provides the results of short-term corrosion tests of some materials in lithium bromide solution and in other working pairs with more potential applications. Various tested materials have very high corrosion resistance to organic solution, but some materials have local corrosion in aqueous solution. The corrosion resistance of 304 stainless steel is acceptable under most conditions, but stress corrosion cracking occurs in hot concentrated solutions of concentrated alkalis in oxygen- or chromate-containing lithium bromide solutions. 304 stainless steels have non-stress conditions as well Intergranular corrosion occurs.
