I read Hemingway’s works in my youth, and I often surprise him with his simple and neat style of writing, his sloppy lack of Chinese writing and the tendency to render. At that time I was still reading the translation, then read the original English, even more impressed. Hemingway’s natural, casual, and easy-to-read style has served as an example for the 1920s and 1930s: When a writer starts to write, he does not have to be single-minded in what he calls “literary writing.” He is not necessarily a stylized adage masterpiece. Hemingway style has suddenly become the trend of college literature and writing teaching. The fifties and sixties is the most popular period in his book and academic circles. Not long ago I reviewed all the works of his life in commemoration of the centenary of Hemingway and I still regard the works of his youthful period as the masterpiece of achieving artistic peak. 1926
