旋光性是许多有机化合物的一个重要的物理性质。研究有机化合物具有旋光性的条件,旋光性及旋光度与分子结构、组成的关系,这是有机立体化学中的一个重要内容。但是,在化学文献和有机化学教科书、参考书中,在论述有机化合物具有旋光性的条件时,往往不太严格、正确。例如:“有机化合物具有旋光性的根本条件是分子不对称性”,“物质的手性是产生旋光性的必要和充分的条件”,“所有手性的分子都是旋光性化合物的分子”,“手性和旋光性之间有一一对应的关系”等。本文就这方面的问题作一讨论。
Optical activity is an important physical property of many organic compounds.
