The launch of Alion Space Co. in the first half of 1993 was disrupted due to the postponement of the launch date of the Galaxy 4 satellite in the same celestial design (Hughes 601) of Australia’s Star B2. The satellite was originally scheduled to launch on January 21, postponed until January 28, early February, and finally Hughes decided to ship it back to the United States for modification. The reason for the postponement of the launch was the manufacturing problems of satellite solar panels. The launch of the Astra 1C, another 601 satellite scheduled to take place in April and May, will still take place in spring, but not as the second launch of Arian’s this year, but as the first launch.
