The headline is a short text that summarizes or comments on the news before the news, often called the “eye” of the news. As the pace of life accelerates and the amount of information increases, the title becomes more and more important in the story. A joint survey of the Wave Media Institute and the Gallup Institute of Tracking Eye published in 1990 showed that readers who read the survey read 56% of the headlines, compared to 25% News body content. The effect of the headline becomes more apparent as we face the news of the web, “You only need a glass of water, but it gives you the whole ocean.”
