Objective: To investigate the validity of using BF% and BMI to evaluate the nutritional status of PE males. Methods: 140 sports male college students were selected and their nutritional status was evaluated by BF% method and BMI method. The results showed that the discriminant results of nutritional status of 140 male undergraduates were different with BF% method and BMI method. Among them, the detection rates of BMI, overweight and obesity, and overweight were all higher than those of normal weight The rate is lower. If the BF% standard discrimination, the normal BMI may appear to be covered by the low-fat or high-fat people. It shows that the body composition of male college students majoring in physical education presents the characteristics of low fat and high muscle. It is suggested that BF% method should be more scientific than BMI to evaluate their nutritional status.
