A dozen years ago, on the French radio station TV5, I was fortunate to see a documentary documenting the visit of a French monumental restoration team to an alpine country to repair an ancient temple with a local body. The rich Buddhist murals are beautifully memorable, have never seen temple architecture so elegant low-key, dim candlelight flashing atmosphere, the heritage of artistry day after day to break the damaged temples shine again gems.
