In 1910, Omori and Imamura (1913, 1915) studied earthquakes with foreshocks and found that such earthquakes easily occurred in certain areas. Richter (1958) described an example of a typical “foreshock-mainshock-aftershock” sequence (the Whitehall earthquake in Los Angeles in 1929), with a strong earthquake occurring 64 days before the main shock. Jones studied the spatiotemporal distribution of seismic activity from 1914 to 1973 before the earthquake. He stipulated that the pre-earthquake occurred within a period of 100 kilometers of the main earthquake epicenter within the first three months before the main earthquake. Wang Chunzhen and other provisions of the pre-earthquake occurred in time
