British writer Angela Carter believes that fairy tales are one of the tools for patriarchal society to educate and domesticate children, especially numb women. His work exposes the supremacy of patriarchal discourse as one of the pioneers of the British idea of using the classic fairy tales to criticize the male chauvinism in the last century. Carter succeeded in rewriting the classic fairy tale, drama and imitation, so as to subvert and digest the purpose of supremacy of patriarchal discourse. She exposes the deceitful hypocrisy of fairy tales or restores the twisted women to their true colors in order to publicize their feminine awareness.
