“Harmony”Started China Business Day in London

  The year 2012 is the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Britain. The British government had especially selected the day when London Olympic Games open as “China Business Day”. As an important part of the “China Business Day”, Eve Group, a Chinese garment producer, held a grand fashion show themed on “harmony” and presented Chinese culture to the local audience at the British Business Embassy — Lancaster House. Meanwhile, champion athletes, business leaders and renowned artists will jointly interpret the charm of Chinese fashion on the T-terrace. About more than 300 distinguished audiences from all over the world watched the Chinese cultural show.
  This is another time when Chinese brands take the opportunity and an international platform to expand the brand reorganization, enhance international influence and spread the value of Chinese culture to the world much like in Beijing Olympics in 2008.
  Eve Group joined hands with Wang Chaoge, the core director of the opening ceremonies in Beijing Olympics to innovate and present the four parts of seed and land, water and sunshine, fruit and harvest and togetherness, for the interpretation of “harmony” in a unique fashion, symbolizing harmony and coexistence between human and nature, life and all things, and expressing people’s awe for nature and life.
  In the “key” fashion design, the designers adopted the rounded contour of traditional Chinese attire on the shoulder and such positions, ensuring the overall effect of stiffness and implying the traditional Chinese culture of round externally and square internally. The designers selected the elements of the traditional Chinese landscape, flower and bird paintings in the patterns to highlight the flavor of Chinese culture in the details. The fabrics are mostly cotton and hemp; the opaque leather, transparent yarn and other materials have been combined creatively to highlight the theme of“harmony”.
  It is worth mentioning that there are raw materials procured by designers in Europe, handwoven products of woolen factories that can be traced back to the Victorian age, and buttons carved with Chinese black jade. The manufacturing process combines the Chinese traditional manual way and modern technologies, grafts the traditional civilization to contemporary life, and achieves a perfect integration of the Oriental and Occidental worlds in apparel.
  In addition, the details of the entire fashion show are full of the great accumulation of China’s 5,000-year civilization history. The T-terrace has soil and water with special significance as basic elements. The soil came from Zhoukoudian, Beijing, China, the birthplace of human civilization, the fertile land revealing the origin and charm of Chinese culture; to ensure that the soil could well integrate into the atmosphere, the soil sample was transferred between Beijing and London many times, for the calculation and measurement of the luster, grain and coverage area. The journey that the soil sample travels is almost 2.5 times the length of the equator. The water came from the source of life — the Brahmaputra, which links the past and the future of life on the land of China. In the perfect natural environment, the water flows through the ancient rock layers and sharp gravel, creating precious values with thousands of years’ purification and extraction. These ancient, pure and pollution-free natural gifts have also been transported to the venue of the fashion show.
  It is known that the fashion show site Lancaster House has been a longterm venue for the summit of the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office. It is the first time for the British Government to open the site to a Chinese brand, especially on the day of Olympic ceremony, which demonstrates the recognition of Chinese brands by the British Government, and enhances the image and value of Chinese companies in the international trade. As the London Olympics drew near, the China Business Day have had new historical significance. According to chairman Xia Hua, Eva Group has chosen the location of its creativity headquarter in London and it is expected to start at the end of the year.
