托妮·莫瑞森作品多处描写了一战后到六七十年代美国黑人独特的消费文化现象。鲍德里亚有关消费文化的理论可以很好地解读莫瑞森作品中与消费文化密切相关的几个方面,即饮食、穿着、娱乐休闲、品牌以及身体消费,分析“大众消费模式”所带来的美国黑人消费价值观和道德伦理观的转变,并借此探讨消费对于黑人的符号价值意义和颠覆作用。
Toni Morrison’s works describe in many places the unique consumer culture of Afro-Americans from the first world war to the sixties and seventies. Baudrillard’s theory of consumer culture can well interpret several aspects of Morrison’s work that are closely related to the consumption culture: diet, dressing, leisure and entertainment, brand and body consumption, analysis of “mass consumption model” Bring about the transformation of American black consumer values and moral ethics, and to explore the meaning and subversive role of consumption for the black symbolic value.
