In the long history of China stencil printing, engraving is only a special phenomenon. It is this rare phenomenon that broke the long-term monopoly of men’s carving and formed a colorful page in the history of Chinese printing. Modern scholars have to pay attention to the engraving of women, but most are confined to the introduction of a large number of claws and the lack of in-depth study. When Mr. Zhang Xiumin’s book, “History of Chinese Printing,” covered a wide range of detailed examination, is the authority of the Department of the book. However, there is only a brief introduction of the book for the phenomenon of women engraving. I am afraid this is due to lack of documentation, and no one made a study of this reason.
