American company HP 2804A digital thermometer can be connected to one or two probes to measure temperature or temperature difference. The sensor inside the temperature probe is a precision cut quartz crystal that gives a stable relationship between resonant frequency and temperature. Each crystal sensor is factory calibrated over the full temperature range and its calibration data is processed and stored in a calibration module supplied with the probe. Digital thermometers use microprocessors and electronic circuits. During the measurement, the microprocessor in the thermometer performs complex control and calculates the frequency from the sensor and the calibration data of the calibration module to accurately measure and display the measured temperature.
