铁矿石的种类很多,用来炼铁的矿物主要有磁铁矿(Fe3O4)、赤铁矿(Fe2O3)和菱铁矿(FeCO3)等。铁矿石经酸溶解后,首先用硅钼黄作指示剂,用二氯化锡还原三价为二价铁,当三价铁全部还原为二价铁后,稍微过量的二氯化锡将硅钼黄还原为硅钼蓝。再以二苯胺磺酸钠为指示剂,用重铬酸钾标准溶液滴定之。本方法既保持了汞盐法快速、简便之特点,结果也与汞盐法一致,并且免除了环境的污染。

The method not only maintains the rapid and simple mercury salt method, but also has the same result with the mercury salt method, and eliminates environmental pollution.
