对引水渠道土质(岩石)边坡进行分类,是为了寻求各种土质的稳定边坡系数,作为边坡工程设计的依据。稳定边坡系数即是边坡的稳定界线,超过这个界线,如受自然因素(侵蚀、剥蚀等)的影响及人为因素(开挖、爆破等)的影响,就会产生滑塌等现象,如果小于这个界线,虽然边坡稳定性较大,但在修建工程时,会造成劳动力的浪费。所以从工程地质观点正确地进行引水渠道土质边坡的分类,对我国大型的引洮上山及南水北调的水利工程是有重要意义的。
