Serious piano music learning seems to be booming worldwide. Talented young people from the East and the West continue to pour into the conservatories to study the classic tracks. Many in the piano world are worried that getting too many young artists into the market will hinder their success - a success that talented pianists are struggling with. This trend is most clearly demonstrated in international piano competitions. In 1990, the maximum number of participants for an international piano competition was 114, as opposed to more than 750 now. Britain announced a few months ago a new international event, while France’s Bordeaux is planning a new event.
