现代稳健优化设计是以工程模型为基础,并与计算机技术、优化技术相结合的设计方法.将“公理化设计”中的“独立性公理”及“信息公理”引入系统设计阶段,作为系统设计阶段的指导思想:将“最小灵敏度”法引入参数设计阶段寻求产品设计参数的稳健优化值,并以汽车轮盖的设计为例说明如何使用该方法;将“整数规划”法引入公差设计阶段,设计经济合理的产品公差尺寸.传统稳健设计需要进行大量的实验才能完成,而现代稳健优化设计因以模型代替实物可以用计算机完成设计,故产品的开发周期大大缩短
