- Some principal technological parameters of semi-automatic underwater arc cutting and the cutting phenomena with four cutting speeds have been analyzed and studied. A new point of view is put forward that high cutting rate can be obtained by the use of a critical cutting speed. This paper also deals with the phenomena of molten adhesion of conduct tip during semi-automatic underwater arc cutting. On the basis of a special cutting torch design, satisfactory underwater arc cutting process has been achieved.
