1921年11月12日至1922年2月6日,美、英、日、法、意、中、荷、比、葡九国代表召开华盛顿会议。华盛顿会议是巴黎和会的继续和发展。它根据帝国主义各国力量的新对比,确定了战后帝国主义在远东及太平洋地区的统治秩序,从而完成了战后帝国主义重新瓜分世界的所谓“凡尔赛——华盛顿体系”。以下拟就这次会议中帝国主义各国,尤其是美国和日本为争夺这一地区霸权所进行的明争暗斗,加以剖析。
November 12, 1921 to February 6, 1922, the United States, Britain, Japan, France, Italy, China, Netherlands, Belgium and the nine representatives held a Washington meeting. The Washington Conference is the continuation and development of the Paris Peace Conference. On the basis of a new comparison of the power of the various imperialist countries, it has determined the post-war imperialist ruling order in the Far East and the Pacific region and thus completed the so-called Versailles-Washington system in which the postwar imperialists rediscovered the world. The following is intended to analyze the militant struggle that the imperialist countries, especially the United States and Japan, are vying with for this regional hegemony in this meeting.
