This article describes the experiments done by five university graduates and six students at the C.S.Draper Laboratory at MIT and Wesley College. The purpose of this experiment was to design, manufacture and launch a 5kg miniature rover that was used to investigate the landing sites of planets. To date, two prototype vehicles have been manufactured to test the feasibility of the program and the technical requirements for space-certified aircraft have been established. The rover is designed completely independently of the planet lander. It was designed to explore Mars but could be adapted to the lunar exploration mission by simply retrofitting it. This rover is scheduled to work 30 days with a daily travel of 100 meters and at least 2 images of the ground. The rover can also be used as a roaming platform for other scientific devices.
