In recent years, wavelet transform has been paid more and more attention as a new theory in the processing of 3D seismic data. In this paper, an algorithm to shorten the length of seismic wavelet and improve the ratio between the mainlobe and the sidelobe of the seismic wavelet is designed based on the zoom characteristics and the idea of wavelet transform. The algorithm is applied to 3D seismic data processing of B701 well in the east slope of Gudao Oilfield . The results show that this algorithm is effective in improving the resolution of formation thickness
