液化石油是一种重要的能源,广泛用作城市煤气和工业染料,在上个世纪七十年代的世界能源消耗中,天然气约占18%~19%,天然气也是重要的化工原料。天然气的特点是易燃、易爆、受热膨胀、带电、腐蚀等特性,比空气重,外泄的气体会汽化成比原体积大约二百五十倍的可燃气体,沿着地面漂浮,迅速向低洼处扩散,不易受风的影响而吹散,极大地提高了与火源接触的机会,一旦遇到明火就会燃烧或爆炸。随着液化石油气走进寻常百姓的日常生活中,液化石油气火宅的爆炸事故也频繁发生,对人民生命财产安全造成了重大的损失。因此加强对这一类火灾爆炸事故的研究和预防,可以最大程度上减少事故的发生和降低事故造成的危害。
