　　在华兹华斯歌咏自然的诗里，诗人本身是一个理性的旁观者，是以心灵与自然进行精神对话者。华兹华斯写有两首致云雀的诗歌，他认为云雀带着本能的神圣，是智慧的象征，可以指引天上和地下的同类。从我们现在所欣赏的这首《致云雀》（节选）中可以看出，诗人渴求得到云雀神性歌聲的引领，获得精神的超越而到达欢乐的天庭。云雀所代表的自然，成为诗人“道德存在和灵魂的保姆、导师和家长”。
