乌坎港是陆丰县四个港口之一,由于港址距县城近,水陆交通方便,作为本县一个货运为主的港口码头的发展前景很好。在当前对内搞活经济、对外实行开放的大好形势之下,恢复、发展和进一步开发乌坎港有可能在振兴陆丰县经济中作出重大的贡献。早在60年代,有关部门就开始呼吁要整治乌坎港了。以后,地方政府及交通等部门不止一次作过调查和研究,但至今仍未敢下决心进行整治。原因是多方面的,而缺乏对港口自然条件的全面认识,可能是其中原因之一。乌坎港能否整治,如何整治,这是我们接受广东省海岸办根据陆丰县政府提出的希望所下达的任务。本文是在我们完成这个课题任务基础上,就乌坎港建港的自然条件及 Wukang Harbor is one of four ports in Lufeng County.
