Objective: To investigate the relationship between serum lipid and thyroid function in patients with metabolic syndrome. Methods: Totally 216 patients with metabolic syndrome who were treated in Zengcheng District People’s Hospital of Guangzhou City from August 2013 to July 2015 were selected as the observation group. 481 non-metabolic syndrome patients in the same period were selected as the control group. The differences of blood lipid levels and thyroid function indexes were compared between the two groups, and the relationship between serum lipids and thyroid function and the influencing factors were analyzed. Results: Serum HDL levels in patients were significantly lower than those in control group, and the level of triglyceride (TG) was significantly increased. The level of thyrotropin (TSH) in patients was significantly higher than that in control group. Serum HDL levels were significantly correlated with free thyroid (FT4) level was significantly positive correlation; women TSH higher than men. Conclusion: There is an abnormal thyroid function index TSH expression in patients with metabolic syndrome, and is affected by gender. The level of thyroid function FT4 is related to the level of HDL in serum. Serious thyroid function changes should be paid great attention to in patients with metabolic syndrome.
