On the eve of the Sino-Japanese War, a major transformation took place in North Korea’s foreign trade, and the import and export commodity structure was secondarily revamped. Sea trade with Japan replaced land border trade. China’s trade with China became the new mainstream of its foreign trade. Influenced by different trade-dominated factors, the specific trade situations in Incheon, Busan and Wonsan are different from each other, and the Chinese and Japanese businessmen who dominate North Korea trade also have their advantages and disadvantages. Although there are many unfavorable factors that restrict the expansion of trade, foreign trade still enables North Korea to experience the benefits brought by the development of an export-oriented economy. The sharp increase in the complementarity of the trade between Japan and Japan is an important reason for Japan’s determination to launch the Sino-Japanese War and its annexation of North Korea.
