In 1998, the author once wrote an essay called “Tieshu Shape”. (See No. 28 in the same year, “Chinese Flower Bonsai”, p. 28). This article describes the artificial tied traction to hook the leaves of the way, but in practice more complicated inconvenience. Can this goal be achieved by the usual methods of cultivation? In April this year, the author made a test. After more than one month’s time, the growth of leaves of one experimental strain and four of the control strains has become a definite trend, in which the new leaves grown from the test strains not only shorten but also naturally leaf-wrap, compared with artificial binding , Looks more elegant and handsome, greatly improving the ornamental (see photo).
