吴昌硕(1844-1927年),原名俊,字昌硕,别号老缶、苦铁、缶道人等。他在诗、书、画、印等诸方面造诣极深,为杭州西泠印社第一任社长。著有《吴苍石印谱》《缶庐印存》等。吴昌硕的篆刻从“浙派”入手,后专攻汉印,以“阳刚之美”为主要的审美风格。丁敬、邓石如、赵之谦等篆刻大家,对吴昌硕由汉印之法到洒脱自然的写意印风的形成,产生了极大的影响。这表现出吴昌硕学习篆刻的思路和对古训的传承。
Wuchang Shuo (1844 - 1927), formerly known as Jun, chang Shuo, alias Lao Yan, bitter iron, Taoist and others. He is extremely accomplished in poetry, calligraphy, painting and printing, and is the first president of Hangzhou Xiling Yinshe Society. With a “Wu Cangshi imprint” “Tanlu India Save” and so on. Wu Changshuo’s seal cutting started with “Zhepai ” and later specialized in Han and Indian styles, taking “masculine beauty ” as its main aesthetic style. Ding Jing, Deng Shiru, Zhao Qian and other carving everyone, on the Wu Changshuo from the method of Chinese and Indian to the free and easy impression of the formation of the Indian style, had a tremendous impact. This shows Wu Changshuo learning carving ideas and the heritage of the ancient teachings.
