1953年是數學研究所按照計劃進行研究工作的第一年。經過這一年的工作,本所在多複變數函數論、拓撲學、網絡、單葉函數、微分幾何、力學、數理邏輯、微分方程、數論等方面都獲得了或多或少的研究結果,並寫成了很多篇論文,其中南一部分已經在數學學報及物理學報發表。 這些研究成果中特別值得提出的有: 1.華羅庚所長在多複變數函數論方面的研究,把羣表示論和多複變數函數論的理論結合起來,定出一些基本的不可約域的完整正交系,由此而推出很多結果。又以新的方法證明蘇聯福
