明代湖州人慎懋赏的《四夷广记》记载,杭州人曾到台湾北部的鸡笼、淡水购买硫土,并在福建海澄县将其制成硫磺成品。鸡笼即今基隆附近出产硫磺的大屯火山群,淡水是台北的淡水河,海澄县在今漳州龙海的海澄镇。万历年间明朝廷发放鸡笼、淡水船引,开放商船从漳州到台湾贸易,而且明确了台湾硫土的税率。杭州人卢之颐也说到了鸡笼硫土在漳州的加工,说明慎懋赏的记载是可信的。明代到台湾贸易的不仅有华南人,还有江浙人,台湾和中国东南各地一直有密切联系。
In the Ming Dynasty Huzhou Ren Shen Mao tours “Siyi Guangji” records, Hangzhou people have to northern Taiwan’s cages, fresh water to buy sulfur, and in Fujian Haicheng County will be made of sulfur products. The cages are now Datuk volcanoes that produce sulfur near Keelung. Fresh water is the Tamsui River in Taipei, and Haicheng, in Haicheng County, Longhai, Zhangzhou, is now known as Hai Cheng. During the Wanli years, the Ming court issued cages, freshwater ships, open merchant trade from Zhangzhou to Taiwan, and clarified the tax rate of Taiwan’s sulfur soils. Hangzhou Lu Yi Yi also said that the chicken cage sulfur in Zhangzhou processing, indicating Shen Mao reward is credible record. Not only did the South China people trade in Taiwan in the Ming Dynasty, but also Jiangsu and Zhejiang Provinces, and Taiwan has always been in close contact with all parts of southeast China.
