现任北京戏曲学校校长的孙毓敏,是她母校第一期的毕业生,曾受荀慧生的亲炙,但她继承而不拘泥执著,已经超脱了亦步亦趋、刻意模仿某个流派的境界。她演的《玉堂春》就颇有代表性。京剧《玉堂春》是家喻户晓的传统戏,虽然唱词、板式、场次结构基本相同,但各个流派(王瑶卿、四大名旦、黄桂秋、徐碧云、王芸芳及张君秋等)都有不同的艺术处理和特色。此戏由花衫行当应工,但演起解、会审者多偏重唱工,归青衣路;荀派偏重做工,表演近于花旦。各派一般只演起解、会审两折;王派与尚派加演监会、团圆;荀派则增益首尾,成为情节完整的全部。荀慧生避免前后重复,把“起解”压缩一
