This article describes an analysis method for data obtained with laser tools to determine the wear and tear on HighlandValley Copper (HVC) gyratory crushers. This method of analysis relates crusher crushing performance to crushing chamber geometry. According to the research results, a new method to evaluate the surface shape of the crusher lining was put forward and the surface shape of the new moving cone lining was designed. Improvements to HVC’s standard liner management system are expected to result in a 13% reduction in crusher liner total consumption and a 15% reduction in liner replacement time.
