Objective To explore the impact of postpartum contraception after induced abortion (PAC) in abortion patients. Methods A total of 960 patients undergoing induced abortion were randomly divided into experimental group and reference group, with 480 cases in each group. The reference group was given postoperative routine guidance, and the experimental group was given PAC guidance. A comparison of effective contraception between the two groups one year later was made. Results In the experimental group, the awareness rate of contraception, the correct application of contraceptive methods and the persistence of the correct method of contraception were better in the experimental group than in the reference group, and the chances of recurrence of unwanted pregnancy within 1 year were significantly lower than those of the reference group (P <0.05). Conclusions After PAC intervention, patients’ awareness of relevant knowledge can be improved and the probability of repeat abortion can be reduced.
