The analysis of trace elements in pure metals is an important issue in the current analytical chemistry research, which requires that the analytical method has high sensitivity and good selectivity. Polarographic determination of copper has been reported, but the copper-2-mercaptobenzothiazole system has not been reported. We found in the experiment that copper-2-mercaptobenzothiazole complex has a sensitive reduction wave in single-sweep polarography in ammoniacal bottom solution. The optimum composition of the bottom liquid was determined as follows: 8 × 10 ~ (-5) mol / L-mercaptobenzothiazole, 0.80 mol / I NH_3 · H_2O and 0.040 mol / L NH_4Cl.
