Objective To understand the development status of children aged 0 ~ 6 years in Taiyuan city and discuss the influencing factors. Methods A revised version of “Chinese Children’s Developmental Scale” developed by Capital Institute of Pediatrics was used to test the developmental items of 893 children aged 0-6 in Taiyuan. The survey was conducted on the basic situation questionnaire of children developed by the Capital Institute of Pediatrics. The developmental traits of girls with big motor, fine motor and social behavior were better than boys significance. Univariate analysis showed that there was no statistically significant difference in the mode of delivery, history of allergy, monthly per capita income of children and child development, while the educational level of parents (t = -3.366, P = 0.001), t , P = 0.000), the main caregivers (t = -2.267, P = 0.024), constipation (t = 3.513, P = 0.000) and child development. The results of multivariate analysis showed that the main caregivers (t = -2.501, P = 0.013), father’s education level (t = 2.393, t = 3.393, P = 0.000) , P = 0.017). There was no significant difference between the level of mother’s education, the level of major caregiver’s education and that of children’s development. Conclusion Early childhood development is influenced by many factors, raising parents’ cultural literacy, being mainly raised by their parents, ensuring normal gastrointestinal function and having important significance for children’s development.
