茶叶生产过程中往往因茶树栽培条件、树龄、生长状态、自然因素等影响,而出现如下几种类型的茶园时,必须及时对茶树进行回剪改造。诸如:一、茶树年龄处于壮年后期,即将进入衰老的前期,而茶树生物学产量开始下降,同时在茶树高度的1/2以下已出现更新枝条时;二、茶树虽然处于壮年期,因为强采而管理不善引起早衰,即使加强管理能恢复生机,但蓬面枝条结构差,枝条稀疏,结节枝条、鸡爪枝多,树势又较高,再也无法发挥它的增产潜力时;三、茶树遭受严重自然灾害,如病虫、冻害、烧伤严重时;四、茶树虽处于丰产期,但常因植株过高,管采不便,难以防治病虫害,而使茶树产量不稳和减产时。上述4种茶树类型,我所都分别进行了研究。
