一、昆明会馆的勃兴中国大西南政治、经济、文化要地的云南昆明,何时开始设立会馆组织,无具体史籍文献可考。但据近几年陆续出版的有关云南地方志书零星记载,并与有关报刊的零星资料相印证,约略可窥视其历史概貌。约起自清代中叶至“中华民国”时期,尤其是清末至民国20年间,不仅云南省境内建制稍为规范而且经济、文化有一定发展的州、县,诸如腾冲、保山、鹤庆、大理、祥云、他郎(墨江)、元江、通海、石屏、临安(建水)、蒙自、曲靖、宣威、昭通等州、县,纷纷在昆明设置同乡(籍)或同业的会馆组织,而且省外商品经济比较发达的内地和沿海地区流寓于“西南极边夷地”的行商者和其他游民,也先后在昆明设置自己的会馆或行会、行帮组织,作为流荡者的“家”。昆明会馆组织的勃兴,是当时云南基层社会的一道亮丽的风景线。
