In general, the expression of the concept of English negation can be directly based on some negative words, or rely on prefixes and suffixes with negative meanings. However, there are some English expressions that have neither negative nor pre-suffixed suffixes that denote negative meanings, but they are completely affirmative in form but negative in their meaning. This kind of indirect negation is a common linguistic phenomenon in English. It can not only avoid the repeated use of negative words, but also diversify the expression of negative meanings. Therefore, analyzing and inducing various indirect negative expressions not only helps to understand the original text correctly, but also avoids comprehension of deviation due to the existence of literary quotations. Moreover, we can flexibly use authentic English expressions to improve our comprehensive English proficiency.
