The conscious dimension and emotional experience shown in his poems are both a prophetic loneliness and a vague form of a far-reaching echo of the upcoming social changes. The exploration of personal and social life history from the beginning of youth has resulted in the autobiographical question being reconstructed again in his later poetry and deepened into a late style. Mu Dan’s late style embodies not only the late life of a poet, but also the late Romantic discourse and the late Utopian society and its conceptual history.
