Four-week-old SD rats were selected and orally administered with high selenium (5.68mm / kg), selenium (0.73mm / kg) and / or high cadmium (33.3mg / kg) for 12 weeks. At the end of the 3rd, 6th, 9th, and 12th week, a series of rats were sacrificed to study the effect of high concentration of selenium and cadmium on selenium content in blood, heart, liver, kidney, lung, brain and spleen. The results showed that the content of selenium in the blood and tissues of rats with high selenium and high cadmium at the same time was significantly lower than that of the high selenium alone group, especially in the liver and kidney, which reduced the accumulation of selenium in rats. It is suggested that cadmium may have a beneficial effect on the occurrence and development of endemic selenosis in areas with high selenium and high cadmium.
