Tea polyphenols are the main component of tea (mainly green tea). Studies have shown that tea polyphenols have a wide range of biological properties and pharmacological effects, both basic and population studies suggest that tea or tea extracts can inhibit the occurrence and development of a variety of tumors. A review of the research progress of tea polyphenols anti-cancer molecular mechanism and its role in the prevention and treatment of cancer is given. 1 Types and Composition of Tea Tea (Tea, Camellia sinensis) is made from the sprouts of Camellia plants and has a long history of nutrition, health care, and medicinal properties. In recent years, with the in-depth study of the active ingredients of tea, the nutrition, health care and pharmacological effects of the main component tea polyphenols have received extensive attention and have been practically applied in clinical practice. Tea can be divided into three major categories of green tea, black tea and oolong tea according to different processing methods and ingredients. Green tea plus
