Architectural design in colleges and universities may be challenged by many factors. Many colleges have long traditions and outstanding performance in their respective communities. In the face of some ancient buildings, we often have a nostalgia. While maintaining their historical essence, it also poses a challenge to renovation. Coupled with the changing mode of operation of the University, these existing buildings tend to become more and more difficult to use because of their age. These changes are the result of countless factors, such as the new administration, the demands of prominent donors, the most important of which may be student demands. This article outlines how to generate a more functional and cost-effective project with a more focus on compliance and a master plan approach.
