专业英语不但是每个专业的重要的专业基础课,它也是科技英语的重要组成部分。目前,科技英语作为英语的一种文体存在,早已为国内外人士所公认。而且,科技英语除了具有和普通英语相同的共性之外,又有其自己的个性。也就是说,它除了在语言系统、词汇上、语法上和普通英语具有相同之处外,它在词汇使用上、句法上、修辞上都有其自有的特点。如在词汇使用上的特点是专业词汇出现的频率低,通用科技词汇出现的频率较高,而半科技词汇出现的频率最高,广泛使用特写词等。在句法上的特点如大量使用被动结构,广泛使用非谓语动词,短词动词多,形容词短语作后置定语多等。在修辞上的特点如使用一般时态多,虚拟语气少,祈使语气多等特点。既然专业英语是科技英语的一个重要组成部分,那么它也必然具有上述这些特点。我在几年的专业英语教学实践中,深感在专业英语的教学过程中,除了讲授教材中的各种语法现象、长句、难句等,还应增加以下内容。 Professional English is not only an important basic course for each major, it is also an important part of English for science and technology. In my professional English teaching practice for several years, I deeply felt that in the course of teaching English in professional English, in addition to teaching grammatical phenomena, long sentences and difficult sentences in teaching materials, the following contents should also be added.
